As a Hygiene Manager, you will have responsibility for driving site hygiene standards by ensuring there is a hygiene management system in place, lead and motivate the Hygiene team in delivering the standards and follow a continuous improvement approach.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Aid the Head of Technical where possible in the implementation of BRCGS standards.
2. Establish, manage, and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with hygiene across the company.
3. Investigate and rectify any hygiene issues with root cause analysis and implement appropriate preventive actions.
4. Attend management meetings with different line managers across the organisation.
5. Proactively work with other areas of the business to develop a positive hygiene culture.
6. Challenge unsafe behaviours and recognise areas of improvement.
7. Carry out regular audits of the site to ensure compliance.
8. Support the business in the implementation of new and existing legislation and internal procedures.
9. Ensure the company complies with all relevant hygiene legislation.
10. Adhere to the company policies including Food Safety and Quality Policy, HR policies etc., and implement them accordingly where required.
11. Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed, supporting a behavioural safety culture.
12. Manage and organise the allocation of workload within the Hygiene team to consistently meet operational and business needs.
13. Drive a food safety quality culture through engagement and continuous improvement.
14. Prepare and complete audits to maintain hygiene standards in all areas, and drive timely completion of all actions.
15. Manage Hygiene Management system (Cleaning Program) and implement Housekeeping and Cleaning Procedure to ensure site compliance to hygiene standards.
16. Develop efficient methods for dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling machinery parts.
17. Manage quality management systems on site relating to hygiene and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
18. Effectively manage the team and drive colleague engagement through regular communication, performance reviews, feedback, and goal setting.
19. Manage personnel matters in a timely manner, including absence management or employee relations matters.
20. Work with peers and support functions to drive engagement, culture, and performance at the site.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
Essential:
* Food Hygiene Level 3.
* HACCP Level 3.
* Demonstrable experience in a food industry technical role.
* IT and Microsoft 365 Dynamic systems.
* Knowledge of BRC standards and Environmental Monitoring requirements.
* Previous demonstrable experience in leading a team.
* Good knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their functions.
* Previous experience in creating, implementing, and managing cleaning and hygiene programs.
* Good knowledge of food machinery dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling parts.
Desirable:
* Degree or equivalent in the relevant technical discipline.
* Knowledge of H&S within a business.
* Demonstrable knowledge of COSHH.

Pay: £34,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
