Job overview
To provide a high-quality and professional Materials Management service throughout the Trust ensuring appropriate levels of stock and supply routes for products that are selected and used. Support and contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust's Procurement strategy and identify and investigate opportunities to extend the Materials Management service. Actively participate in and support the product appraisal and evaluation and assist with the coordination of products for trials on Materials Management items.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic Materials Management Officer with a flexible approach and great customer service skills to join our team at Worthing but to be based at Southlands Hospital, Shoreham-by-Sea. The job holder is required to provide a cost-effective materials management service in accordance with agreed procedures. The post holder will ensure replenishment of ward stocks using PDA/bar code technology, to agreed levels to meet the needs of the wards and departments and review reorder levels and reorder quantities. The post holder will ensure items are put away in agreed stock locations on the agreed day and will keep storage areas clean and tidy.
The role involves a significant amount of walking, manual handling, unloading and unpacking goods from cages and restocking ward in department stock rooms.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Receive and deliver ordered stock to its correct location. Order required stock for replenishment to meet min/max levels as per numbers displayed. Maintain the stock in an organised manner ensuring all labels are clearly visible and in good condition. Liaise with location staff to communicate supply constraints and offer approved alternatives.
