Job Description
Veterinary Surgeon
Are you looking for a role where you can thrive in a state-of-the-art hospital, work alongside a talented and supportive team, and enjoy a great work-life balance? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
About Us: We are a well-equipped, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital with a large, experienced team of 14 vets, including certificate holders in surgery and medicine, plus a skilled nursing team with advanced training in Schedule 3 procedures and imaging. Our multidisciplinary team also includes a hydrotherapist, a physiotherapist, and a dedicated client care team.
Our purpose-built hospital offers cutting-edge facilities, including CT and MRI, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and a range of referral services such as emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and laser therapy. We pride ourselves on providing gold-standard patient care, combining advanced medicine with a welcoming and supportive team culture.
The Role: We’re looking for an experienced vet with a surgical bias to join our dynamic and growing team. An interest in laparoscopic surgery would be a bonus, but it’s not essential. You’ll need to be confident handling a variety of medical and surgical cases, including standard emergency procedures.
You’ll enjoy a great work-life balance with:
1. A 4-day week
2. 1 in 4 weekends
3. No out-of-hours work
4. Minimal on-call rota (just 3-4 times a year)
We’re open to part-time applications, but weekend availability (1 in 4) is required.
What We Offer:
1. Salary up to £70,000 (DOE)
2. Generous CPD allowance (with certificate funding)
3. Supportive management and career development opportunities
4. 5.6 weeks of holiday (rising to 6.6 weeks after 2 years)
5. Private health insurance
6. Contributory pension scheme
7. Paid RCVS, BVA, and VDS fees
8. Sponsorship available for suitable candidates requiring a Tier 2 visa
9. Access to wellbeing and support services
10. Cycle-to-work scheme
