The Role
As an Experienced Dental Implant Nurse at Cottage Dental, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Dr. Sandy Limerick in the delivery of high-quality dental implant procedures and general dentistry as required.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting in Dental Implant Procedures:
o Provide chairside assistance during dental implant surgeries.
o Ensure the surgical environment is meticulously prepared, maintaining the highest standards of infection control.
o Anticipate and assist with the specific needs of dental implant and grafting procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
2. Patient Care and Education:
o Welcome and prepare patients for procedures, addressing any concerns, and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
o Provide post-operative care instructions and educational materials to patients, promoting optimal recovery and oral health.
3. Instrument Sterilisation and Equipment Maintenance:
o Maintain and sterilise surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms in adherence to infection control protocols.
o Collaborate with the team to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
4. Patient Records and Documentation:
o Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and clinical notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
o Assist with maintaining and organising patient records, ensuring completeness and confidentiality.
5. Collaboration with the Dental Team:
o Foster effective communication and collaboration with the dental team, including dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff.
o Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
* Dental Nursing Qualification: You should possess a recognized dental nursing qualification and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
* Experience in Implant Dentistry: Proven experience as a dental nurse with a specific focus on dental implant procedures, bone grafting, and gum grafting is essential.
* Infection Control Knowledge: A thorough understanding and adherence to infection control protocols.
* Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication with both patients and the dental team is crucial.
* Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Possession of a sedation qualification is advantageous.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
Expected Hours: No less than 32 per week
