A Vacancy at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Clerical Officer to fill a vacancy that has arisen within the busy gynae and obstetric ultrasound part of our Radiology Department. You will be based at Colchester General Hospital within Constable wing. This post is to cover maternity leave until 5th November 2025, part time 30 hours per week.
Please note the available shift pattern is 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Tuesday to Friday
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with proven clerical ability. Being able to work under pressure is essential as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.
• To provide a high standard of clerical service and, where necessary, reception duties across the department, adhering to guidelines and policies.
• To undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties which will include receiving and checking documentation, reports and patient information, processing appropriately within departmental guidelines, entering information onto the appropriate IT systems and retrieving information as and when required
• To become a confident user on all hospital systems to enable accurate input of complete patient information into the departmental (CRIS) and hospital computer systems (LRC).
• To greet patient and visitors to the department, providing an efficient and courteous service, referring queries or concerns regarding patients and other visitors to the department to appropriate senior staff when required.
• To deal with telephone callers politely and efficiently and understand the need to refer on to a relevant member of staff when necessary.
• To plan and book appointments in priority order in accordance with GP/Consultant requirements and departmental policy in a timely and efficient manner
• Liaise with depart Consultants, radiographers and sonographers to ensure room availability and lists are correctly booked.
