We’re looking for
someone to lead our busy operation, ensuring the daily operations plan is executed safely, legally and on time.
Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager this role is responsible for overseeing the operation, ensuring customer requirements are met and company policies and procedures are followed. Supporting the Senior Operations Manager in developing the site, ensuring customer service levels remain high and site teams are managed effectively. Responsible for the day to day management of the team ensuring they are managed in line with company policies and procedures.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. Overall responsibility for the management of customer stock from receipt to final last mile delivery for all customers. Working with IKEA (But not limited to this)
2. Working with the Senior Operations Manager on operational costs, achieving budget whilst identifying and then delivering cost reduction within the site.
3. Develop and manage site KPI’s in line customer SLA.
4. Provide leadership and direction to the team.
5. Motivate, coach, and develop a high performing Hub team.
6. Proactively plan and engage with other departments to ensure a collaborative approach and effective.
7. Resolution of issues.
8. Be the point of contact for the Customer.
9. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Create and drive a culture of continuous improvement and lead process improvement activities.
11. Manage resources to maximise service and efficiencies.
12. Investigate all system and stock issues. Manage missing & damage reports.
13. Lead external suppliers / Subcon relationships and KPI’s via agreed review processes.
14. Lead the store trunking operation, ensuring smooth transport of LCD.
15. Create and maintain a culture where Health and Safety is priority.
16. Ensure vehicle compliance is always adhered to.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
17. Essential: It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment – no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet
18. Essential: You must have experience working in a Transport Shift Management position – managing drivers and office staff.
19. Essential: Support and encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that all stakeholders work effectively and communicate frequently to achieve the business objectives
20. Desirable: Have a working knowledge of Transport Legislation / WTD / Drivers hours
21. Desirable: CPC in National road Haulage
