Managing Director
HCI Systems Limited is a market leader in the design, manufacture and fitting of vehicle electrical systems. Over the last decade we have built an impressive client base across top-tier series motorsport and now exploit our technical know-how across defence, marine and high-performance automotive sectors too. We are now looking for an entrepreneurial leader to spearhead our next phase of growth.
The capability we offer our clients is both unique and scarce. The opportunities we already see in the market are vast. Our enviable reputation for producing world class safety critical control systems has been hard won and provides us with credibility and a strong platform from which to grow – the team currently numbers 60 and turnover is c.£3m. Your strategic leadership will now prepare the business for, and then deliver on our future growth plans.
HCI is now part of the Prodrive group of companies so you will have full autonomy and full accountability for the company’s P&L, whilst also benefitting from the support and strength of the wider Prodrive group. You will be a passionate, inspiring and forward-thinking leader who can provide supportive and nurturing leadership to the management team to help us realise our full potential and capitalise on the opportunities that lie ahead.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain goals
• Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans
• Plan cost-effective operations which supports the growth of the business
• Build long term, trusting relationships with shareholders, staff, customers & suppliers
• Oversee the company’s financial performance in line with agreed budgets and KPIs
• Coach the management team providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance and talent and development pipeline that can deliver the growth strategy
• Develop and enhance the company culture in line with the agreed values, ensuring HCI Systems retains a positive work environment and remains a great place to work
Who are we looking for?
• Previous working experience as Managing Director in a technical manufacturing business
• Hands on experience in developing strategic and business plans
• In depth knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
• Clear understanding of the P&L with a focus on the bottom line
• Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
• Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Problem solver able to keep calm and efficient under pressure
