You will be working within a team of thirteen alongside other Accounts Assistants and supported by the Accountants, Trainee Accountant and Finance Apprentice.
About the role
We now have a vacancy for an Accounts Assistant within the Finance Department.
This role requires experience of working within a Finance Department or a similar office environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail along with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
* Accounts receivable duties such as raising customer invoices, allocating receipts and credit control responsibilities.
* Student Finance duties such as managing financial support funds (Bursaries), Higher Education Loan portal and 24+ Advancing Learning Loans.
* Accounts payable duties such as posting supplier invoices, preparing payment runs and completing statement reconciliations.
* Cash and Banking duties including cash counting, preparation of floats, preparing cash for banking and making the relevant entries into the finance ledger.
* Reconciling and balancing all balance sheet control accounts monthly.
The successful candidate will have:
* Demonstrable evidence of relevant finance experience.
* Demonstrable evidence of relevant IT skills including Excel and finance systems.
* Proven ability to reconcile accounts.
* Proven ability to meet internal and external stakeholder deadlines.

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment.
