Every member of staff is a pastoral member of staff. The Personal Development Curriculum supports students’ comprehensive pastoral education through RSHE lessons, tutor time, assemblies, Tuesday afternoon enrichment (TPM), Information and Guidance (IAG) and Activities Fortnight.
We are extremely proud of our pastoral provision, which is staffed by a dedicated team of 7 Heads of Year, 2 Assistant Heads of Year, Pastoral Managers, SENDCo, Head of PDC, KS3 – 4 and KS5 Attendance Officers and a dedicated Safeguarding Team.

The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Attendance and Family Communications Officer to join our team at Pate’s Grammar School.
In this role you will play a key part in supporting the regular and punctual attendance of our students, a key factor in their academic success and overall well-being. You will work closely with students, parents/carers, and school staff to address attendance issues, implement strategies for improvement, and promote a positive school environment.
You will have experience of working with young people and their families, along with a passion for supporting these young people in their education. This will be supported by your attention to detail and organised approach to your work.
Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents/carers and staff are key to this role, along with your empathy, patience and positive approach.
