Position Summary
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Desktop Support Technician is expected to answer support calls and tickets from Bank employees, maintain written procedures describing IT job activities, and work diligently and accurately to fix issues and ensure the functionality of the Bank’s technology. They must be well-versed in computer systems and possess great problem-solving and research skills.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
1. Build and configure workstations to Bank standard, starting from the operating system.
2. Follow and update the On-boarding procedure for new employees, i.e., create all accounts in all the systems necessary for new employees to do their jobs.
3. Be a main point of contact for the help desk call group, responding to inquiries and requests for assistance on the phone, via email, in person, or through remote access.
4. Install and maintain local area network hardware and software to ensure that systems are functional and ready for use at the beginning of the workday.
5. Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of software programs.
6. Install, repair and upgrade computer equipment including workstations, printers, and phones.
7. Coordinate with third-party vendors for workstations, printers, and copier repair.
8. Train users in software and equipment usage. Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly.
9. Travel to and between all bank locations on a regular basis.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required
1. Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum of two years of relevant experience in Information Technology.
3. Experience with building and/or supporting workstations.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. Strong communications skills (written and spoken).
6. An openness to learning new technologies.
7. Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, ITIL Certifications, CompTIA A+) will be an advantage.
8. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
9. Must be able to travel between bank locations.
