Working with 2mm to 10mm Mild Steel, candidates will be required to weld in various positions including overhead and vertical up.Predominantly supporting the production and repair of passenger carriages and rolling stock sections, including the replacement of solebars, internal supporting columns and whole floor refurbishments. Candidates will be required to cut, grind and strip out corroded material before refitting and joining new sections using MIG process.Most welds will be undertaken in position so a good level of experience with MIG welding in the Vertical Up and Overhead position is crucial to be considered for this role.This role would be ideal for candidates from the Plant/Equipment repair background as well as Fabricator Welders coming from Quarry / heavy machine refurbishment.Candidates will have:* Experience of Mild Steel MIG welding including positional work (Vertical Up and Overhead)* Experience of MIG (Steel)* Own tools and PPE (Including air fed mask, fireproof overalls and grinder)* Minimum NVQ 2 RequiredSuccessful candidates...
