Summary:
The jobholder will be part of a wider IT team to ensure the functionality of various complex IT systems within a growing and ambitious manufacturing business. Reporting to the Head of IT, the jobholder will carry out day-to-day system administration duties as well as assist with the introduction of new technologies and systems throughout the business. The jobholder will also be required to assist with end-user support activities alongside other members of the IT team.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the IT & IS systems within the business.
2. The server infrastructure is almost completely virtualised - knowledge of VMWare vSphere and ESXi hosts is essential.
3. A strong understanding of both on-premise Windows server technologies and Cloud Azure is required.
4. Knowledge and demonstrable experience of networking and storage technologies.
5. Experience and understanding of ITIL, ticket system usage, and the correct manner of writing work instructions / process / policy work etc.
6. Provide 2nd line and occasional 1st line support to staff and other IT / IS team members - be a point of support for apprentices.
7. Have a good understanding of traditional on-premise Windows features such as AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.
8. Have experience with modern technologies such as Autopilot, Intune, M365 technologies such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive etc.
9. Carry out server, storage, and system updates on a regular basis, ensuring backup systems are working correctly and backed up data is consistent and recoverable.
10. Assist in the provisioning of new ERP solution and associated technologies alongside the Head of IT.
11. Perform cyber security compliance auditing and monitoring using the very latest technology.
12. Assist with the maintenance and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure throughout the business.
13. Carry out other duties and projects which may from time to time become necessary.
14. Adopt a lean culture which works with continuous improvement at its heart.
15. Be prepared to complete training and development programmes as required.

Education and Qualifications:
A good standard of education to degree level is desired. Up to date professional certifications or demonstrable skills would be of benefit.

Further Notes:
A full UK driving license is required. Some out of hours working may be required from time to time to carry out routine maintenance and upgrades. This role is working onsite five days a week.
