Our growing Digital team produces data driven solutions to improve our current business and supports new opportunities for our customers in the UK and around the world. The team is part of the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business operating across the UK, providing innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers.
We're looking for a passionate and inspiring Business Analyst to join us in delivering change across multiple value streams. Working across the firm and its customers and partners, you will be involved in the design of new software and infrastructure, in process change, supporting campaign teams and delivery readiness, in procurement, and more. You will have a remit to drive Agile philosophy in our development teams and beyond. You will work closely with our developers, product owners, project and campaign teams to understand problems and break down work to build collaborative solutions.
What you'll do as a Business Analyst
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will:
1. Work simultaneously in multiple projects of varying size and tempo
2. Capture, validate, analyse and articulate requirements
3. Assess business impact i.e. cost/benefit, risk/opportunity
4. Develop a network of contacts across the business
5. Play an active part in determining the strategy and plan for the Digital team
6. Coach and encourage Agile thinking in the Digital team and in the teams we support
7. Be a key member in a team of analysts, engineers, architects, developers and testers
8. Be encouraged and supported in your professional development
Our team is located across the UK, and you can choose to be based on any of our main UK sites. Leonardo operates a very flexible hybrid-working model that lets our people split their time between attending the workplace and working remotely. CS3 operates across the UK with key sites in Luton, Bristol and Edinburgh. Regular travel within the UK, and occasionally abroad, will be required to support co-located working.
We would like to hear from you if you have a combination of the following:
1. Experience in business analysis tools and techniques, including process mapping and user story composition
2. Experience in backlog management, ideally using Jira, Azure DevOps or similar
3. The ability to explore and understand complex problems and ideas and re-articulate these appropriately to different audiences
4. Experience in Design Thinking and story-telling, workshop facilitation and interviewing
5. Cross-functional experience working with other disciplines, ideally beyond software development
6. Strong, practical stakeholder management skills and experience
7. It would be advantageous if you also have:
1. Knowledge of MoD logistics or engineering systems
2. Experience with MoD procurement and delivery teams
3. Awareness of data analytic and machine learning approaches
4. Understanding of application development and change delivery
5. The ability to coach colleagues in applying business analysis techniques
6. An understanding of the change delivery lifecycle
