About The Role
We're looking for a highly creative and experienced Designer to join a multidisciplinary team working across our digital bespoke editorial and special projects as part of the Product Design team. In this role, you will own projects and mentor other designers.
Working closely with Senior Designers and the Design Director, you'll be shaping how we tell stories digitally, working on innovative formats to create experiences that are a joy to read. You'll use the newspaper and its supplements as a reference and be unafraid to challenge briefs, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to elevate and convey our journalism to the highest standard. Collaborating with editorial desks and the visual journalism team, you will provide visual guidance and support to producers, developers, editors, and journalists to ensure visual excellence across all we do. Your role will be to support and sometimes lead projects that go beyond expectations across the concepts developed for our day-to-day and high-profile journalism. You will oversee work for one or more areas of the team's daily, weekly and longer-term output.
You are independent, autonomous, and demonstrate an exceptional eye for detail. You have experience in dealing with many different stakeholders. The successful candidate will be passionate about design and eager to work with wider teams in realizing all design ideas through to delivery. Communication is important, so you will be comfortable presenting and able to confidently justify your design decisions. You will be expected to interpret and implement the creative vision across a broad range of projects ranging from digital, print, social, and video.

8. Highly skilled in Framer and Adobe CC (InDesign, Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).

13. Ability to animate as well as design.
14. Interest in current affairs and passion for telling stories.
15. Energetic, with an appetite for experimentation and a good sense of fun.
