The Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and fully qualified Vehicle Technician in our workshop. Carrying out all types of work primarily on LCV and HGV vehicles including aftersales for Mercedes Benz truck and van and MAXUS UK. The workshop provides servicing, general maintenance, MOT preparation, MOT's, PMI's and PDI's, as well as Warranty work, roadside breakdowns, tyres, and off-site repair work. The role will include but is not limited to:
1. Responsibility for routine servicing and repairs; brakes; gearbox and clutch repairs/replacements; electronic and mechanical fault finding; electrics and all other duties associated with this role.
2. Pre-MOT investigations and MOT Testing.
3. Completing all work assigned daily, ensuring adherence to company and manufacturer standards and agreed time constraints.
4. Completing all necessary diagnostic analyses on vehicles as laid down by company and vehicle specifications.
5. Ensuring that work is always to the highest standard, seeking to achieve consistently high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
6. Carry out and complete administrative tasks including all worksheets, recording hours, parts used, job and defect sheets.
7. Presenting a positive company image through professionalism and quality of service.
8. Maintain good working relationships with clients.
9. Updating the workshop coordinator with progress on jobs and any additional rectification work required.
10. Workload prioritisation with accurate and timely completion of paperwork.
11. Promotes and follows a robust H&S culture.
Training:
Training on the repair and maintenance of Mercedes Benz & MAXUS vehicles, including electric vehicles, will be provided for the successful candidate.
Skill and Experience:
Have at least 5 years' maintenance technician experience working with commercial vehicles.
Experience of inspection, repair, and service of LCV / HGV.
Class 2 Driving License (preferred, not essential).
Qualified to City and Guilds 1 + 2 + 3 or NVQ level 3 Motor Vehicle Technician Qualification.
Qualified MOT Tester.
The ideal candidate will:
