What You'll Be Doing: As a Senior Transport Operator, you will be a vital part of our operations team, ensuring our delivery and collection schedules run smoothly and efficiently. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Planning and coordinating the allocation of drivers, vehicles, and loads using state-of-the-art IT systems to maximise efficiency and minimize costs.
Managing driver hours and ensuring compliance with regulations through accurate timesheet management and audits.
Collaborating with internal and external teams, including warehouse staff, vehicle maintenance, and customer-facing departments, to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
Proactively identifying and driving continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Communicating effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, and key stakeholders to meet customer targets and KPIs.
What We're Looking For: To succeed in this role, you should have a solid background in transport operations and a keen eye for detail. Key skills and experience we are looking for include:
A strong knowledge of transport regulations (Highway Code, EU tachograph rules, Working Time Regulations, Road Transport Regulations).
Experience with transport management systems and an understanding of logistics operations.
Ability to solve logistics challenges and find practical solutions.
Familiarity with health and safety practices in a transport or warehouse environment.
A logistics qualification is desirable, but relevant experience is what counts the most!
