Project Engineer (LED/LCD) Project Engineer This role, reporting to the Technical Director within the Operations team, supports major CAPEX projects delivering infrastructure assets across a busy urban network. From bespoke large LED screens to multi-location LCD displays, you’ll serve as the key engineering expert. As a multi-disciplined Project Engineer (with a preference for civil/structural bias) and experience in the transport, rail, or construction sectors—particularly within the NEC contract framework—you’ll play a crucial role in providing engineering, technical, and buildability advice throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll assist Project Managers in navigating the technical and engineering aspects of delivery. You’ll coordinate technical elements, oversee design and quality assurance, and manage on-site engineering when required. Working across multiple projects, you’ll ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards while collaborating with stakeholders, contractors, and engineering specialists. Key Responsibilities Project Support and Coordination Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. Confirm project scope and align with technical requirements. Support Project Manager(s) to ensure engineering aspects meet project goals. Track project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Technical Design Review and Implementation Review engineering designs for civil, electrical, and communication systems. Ensure compliance with transport, rail, airport, and industry standards (as applicable). Approve or modify designs based on site-specific requirements. Site Inspection and Quality Control Conduct site inspections to monitor build quality, progress, and adherence to plans. Resolve technical issues on-site to maintain safety and quality standards. Stakeholder and Contractor Engagement Collaborate with stakeholders to align requirements and expectations. Clearly communicate technical requirements and ensure accurate delivery. What You’ll Need Project Delivery: Proven experience in delivering civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering projects. A good practical knowledge of project management practices and ideally be certified/qualified at a practitioner level – Prince2 or equivalent Construction & Commissioning: Skilled in managing construction, installation, and commissioning in roadside, highway, or rail environments. Standards Compliance: Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in line with British Standards for electrical design. Capital Expenditure: Successfully managed large CAPEX projects and rollouts. Adaptability & Composure: Agile, composed under pressure, effective in challenging situations. Contractor & Supplier Management: Skilled in managing contractor and supplier relationships, resolving disputes, ensuring project harmony. Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (required) SMSTS certification (preferred) NEBOSH qualification (preferred) In-depth understanding of CDM Regulations 2015, including safety-focused site management and audits Proficient in MS Office and MS Project Chartered status in a relevant profession (desirable) NEBOSH or IOSH (desirable) NEC or similar framework experience (desirable
