Academic Coach in Social Sciences

Salary: £25,501 per annum
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
As our Academic Coach, you will provide academic and/or technical support to our students to help them achieve their qualification and improve and consolidate learning in their programme. There will also be some delivery of group tutorial sessions.
The post holder will work as part of a team across the specialisms within the Institute of Health and Life Sciences and liaise with vocational tutors to devise the best learning experiences for our students to complement their main study programme.

Responsibilities of our Academic Coach:
Supporting the achievement of students through the development, delivery and assessment of study / employability / other skills
Providing teaching support on group tutorials, projects and assignments set by tutors
Preparing training materials, equipment and resources for student activities which you are responsible for
Delivering high-quality learning experiences which enable students to develop in their learning and progress to the next level of study
Supervising and facilitating enrichment activities for students including internal and external skills competitions, guest speakers and external visits
Maintaining individual student records to capture progress of skills, knowledge and behaviour. Completion of all documentation required (eg registers)
Contributing to the on-boarding of students such as interviewing, taster sessions and attend open events as required
What we’re looking for in our Academic Coach:
L2 maths and English or equivalent
L2 in relevant subject or equivalent
First aid at work or willing to work towards
Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant L3 teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS
L4 Assessor qualification or willing to work towards
Experience of supporting classroom and training activities
Ideally recent and relevant experience of specialism in one of the subject areas
