The Role
The Emergency, Crisis, and Business Continuity Planning Manager ensures the development, coordination, and delivery of the emergency, crisis, and continuity response in Eurotunnel working with internal and external stakeholders to limit the impact of a major event on the safety, health, and operations. This role involves assessing potential risks and creating integrated response strategies.
Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications, and Experience
1. Act as Eurotunnel’s lead and subject matter expert for Emergency Planning (EP), Crisis, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
2. Ensure organisational plans align with the ISO Standards and compliance with relevant regulations, legislation, and Eurotunnel requirements.
3. Create relevant policies including the list and order of priority of the plans, methodology, and key contact lists to name the Incident Command or Incident Command System for each division.
4. Draft EP, Crisis or BCP documents by theme to consolidate all the analysis leading up to the main measures and create checklists for the crisis unit directors and external entities. For EP and BCP, follow up on actions and support the divisions to ensure coherence and efficiency in their production.
5. Control the quality of deployment in the divisions, including knowledge sharing with relevant collaborators, communication, and procedures in the divisions.
6. Organise and conduct training exercises for emergency plans with representatives from different divisions, crisis management teams, and stakeholders. After the exercises, perform a review and evaluation (REX) to enhance the plans. In the event of a real crisis related to an (EP) and (BCP), conduct a review and evaluation (REX) of the crisis to improve the plans or provide insights for future development.
7. Set up regular communication within the organisation and with the authorities, including progress and planning of the project, dynamics of working groups and production of deliverables, and deployment status report for all stakeholders.
8. Experienced and qualified professional with Membership of an appropriate related professional body, for example, the Emergency Planning Society (EPS) with a demonstrable record of Continued Professional Development.
9. Educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline.
10. Certificate of competence/training in Emergency Planning, Crisis, Business Continuity Planning, Disaster and Emergency Management, Risk Management, Security and Resilience Management, Business and Continuity Management.
11. Experience in a leadership or management role.
12. The ability to communicate in French or another European Language is desirable but not essential.
