Planning Solicitor | NQ-5 PQE | Leeds

The Opportunity:
As the Planning team continues to grow, they are looking for a solicitor around 0-5 years PQE to join their ranks. The team has an established client base including some of the UK's largest housebuilders, national retail and leisure chains, large country estates, and leading public sector organizations. You will work closely with Partners and other team members on complex and often high-profile matters and interesting project work.
Key Responsibilities will include:
1. Reviewing and negotiating s106 Agreements for housebuilders, registered providers, landowners, and local authorities.
2. Advising on CIL regulations, applications, and structuring planning proposals.
3. Advising on certificates of lawfulness and planning enforcement from the initial stages through to inquiry and/or judicial challenge.
4. Advising on highway issues, including public rights of way.
5. Advising clients in relation to compulsory acquisition and Development Consent Order work.
Ideal Candidate:
The team is seeking applicants from NQ level up to around 5 years PQE with experience gained within an established planning practice. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential as carrying out basic planning due diligence to support the wider team is a key element of this role. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills on top of good IT skills. You will also be a team player in order to work collaboratively as part of a national team.
The successful candidate can expect to be offered a competitive salary in the region of £50k upwards depending on experience.
