We have exciting ongoing opportunities for two IT Assets Officers. In this role you will be responsible for the effective management and compliance of IT hardware, cloud and software assets across the University. Supported by an IT Assets Administrator, Endpoint IT and Finance colleagues you will oversee the full IT asset management lifecycle, including delivery of the staff hardware and software provisioning services. You will report and optimise the IT asset estate and monitor compliance with vendor regulations, data protection legislation and industry standards.
Through liaison with internal and external stakeholders you will identify the University’s business requirements for IT assets and partner with vendors to deliver sustainable and cost-effective assets and services to the University. You will build strong relationships across the sector (including framework providers) to identify patterns, trends and best practice in IT asset management.
As an IT Assets Officer you will:
* Effectively manage IT hardware, software and cloud assets for the University and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with vendor terms, legislation, industry standards and internal policies related to IT assets.
* Maintain and report accurate records of hardware, cloud and software assets.
* Identify and manage risks associated with the University’s IT assets.
* Develop and maintain relationships with staff, vendors, service providers and colleagues across the HE sector.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience in IT hardware OR software asset management, including procurement, inventory tracking, and compliance
* Knowledge of licensing models, relevant regulations and industry standards related to IT hardware and software asset management
* Familiarity with hardware and software asset management tools and systems
