The IT Operations Engineer will be a technical expert at the forefront of Infrastructure and System support for the business, leading on, participating in, and overseeing a wide range of analytical and technically demanding projects. You will be expected to work on a wide range of systems, adapt quickly, take on challenges, and advise on technology best practices whilst striving to continuously improve service quality around our technology environments. This will be a varied role and key tasks will include:
* Third line administration, support and maintenance including: Azure Virtual Desktop; Active Directory; Group Policy; Microsoft Exchange 365; Network Hardware; Infrastructure Performance.
* Take ownership and responsibility for providing the timely problem diagnosis, solutions documentation, implementation, administration, high level support, and ongoing maintenance of a variety of hardware, software, network, and communication systems.
* Provide day to day support for internal customers via IT Service & Operations helpdesk, and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure services.
* Liaising with 3rd party suppliers or other internal departments to collaborate on bug fixes, release installations and plan future developments.
* Conduct internal and external security audits and analyse security breaches to determine their root cause.
* Recommend and install appropriate tools and counter measures.
* Documentation and training to produce and maintain knowledge bases on managed IT systems to support the wider team and business.
Key Qualifications:
* Experience as an independent technical escalation point within the technical team.
* Hands-on Microsoft Windows network skills including Microsoft/Entra AD, Group Policy management, Security, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDP and other Windows services.
* Strong Microsoft Office 365 administration skills, including hybrid Azure deployments including IaaS and PaaS solutions.
* Proficient in the latest Microsoft Windows server, Linux, and desktop operating systems technology stacks, including Azure Virtual Desktop/Nerdio.
* Experienced in commonly used anti-virus software packages, such as Microsoft Defender.
* Experience with 1st, 2nd, 3rd line support would be desirable.
* Beneficial knowledge of working with Manage Engine and Zoho One.
