As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you’ll support and deliver infrastructure-as-code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll learn how modern DevOps practices underpin critical DWP services and gain hands-on experience in real-world agile delivery teams.

* DWP MI (Management Information) – Lead delivery of reporting and visualisation tools used across the Department, from frontline managers to the Secretary of State. Using modern technologies, you’ll design products that drive better decisions through data insight. It’s fast-paced, growing, and flexible.
* Health & Disability Service – Help transform live services by developing tools to support medical practitioners providing vital information for terminally ill patients. Continuously improve services to meet evolving needs.
* Data Platforms (Data and Analytics) – Work on platforms storing and processing data for our analytical community. You’ll help inform policy and strategic decisions using modern tech stacks across on-prem and cloud.
* Integration (Core Digital Services) – Connect the organisation by evolving our API, Event, and File platforms key to supporting data exchange across DWP services. You’ll play a central role in building modern, scalable integration solutions.
You’ll learn about and understand the overall Software Development Lifecycle Process as part of a multifunctional Agile delivery team focused on one or more products.

As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will:
* Understand business requirements and how to turn them into code.
* Understand and contribute to automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
* Identify issues to ensure citizen-facing services are repeatable, scalable, resilient, and highly available.
* Identify issues that prevent delivery or continuation of Software engineering activities.
* Support work across several product teams to write code that is simple and flexible to build, configure and deploy.
* Understand and identify ways to optimise the current development process.
* Provide support with coaching and mentoring to Software and DevOps Engineer peers.
* Contribute to community discussions about better practice.
* Actively contribute towards a DevOps culture and automation best practices.
