We are currently looking for an experienced Head Bartender to join the Food & Beverage team at SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 5 days over 7. You must be over 18 years old for this position and available to work evenings and weekends. We offer a competitive salary, plus gratuities and excellent employee benefits. Gratuities (tips) are an additional charge added onto services and are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of your role. The amount is not guaranteed and is depended on service charge paid. The Head Bartender will support the day-to-day running of the bar at SCHLOSS Roxburghe and ensure the smooth delivery of service to create an exceptional and memorable food and beverage experience. As Head Bartender & Mixologist, your creative flair, energy, and passion for beverage will create superior beverage experiences for our guests. Your Key Responsibilities: Work in partnership with other Managers to execute the smooth and flawless operation of the Bar. Adhere to liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests. Complete all bartender duties when necessary. Develop a complete working knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients and preparation. Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served in the bar. Ensure that all details of service are performed by the bartenders to expected standards and that every guest receives the highest quality of service in line with Schloss Roxburghe standards. Train bartenders and service team to ensure beverage knowledge and service levels are to standard. Drive cocktail menu changes to ensure fresh, innovative, and seasonally accurate cocktails are available on the menu. Delight our guests by offering a trend setting and innovative product, contributing to sales activities and maximizing revenues. Assist with beverage procurement and beverage costing. Ensure beverage costings are accurate, maximising GOPs. Contribute to shift briefings as required as well as lead staff training sessions for all beverage products. Complete product requisitions accurately and maintain bar beverage inventory control. Ensure all bartender checks are closed and guest billing is accurate at all times. Monitor bar opening and closing duties and completed daily to standard by bartenders. You have a passion for and understanding of 5-star hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service. You have strong organisational and leadership qualities. You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. You are confident in handling guest complaints. You can work well under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment. Proven Experience/Qualifications: Minimum of 2-years experience in Food & Beverage or the hospitality industry Previous experience within bar environments is essential and a fast-paced working environment. Experience, knowledge and understanding in the luxury hospitality industry. Excellent command of English and additional skills, like guest service and interpersonal are essentials. Flamboyant and bar tending skills coupled with thorough knowledge about all types of wines, liquor and cocktails are an advantage. Previous experiences in leadership and supervisory roles are a definite plus.
