We work on behalf of a special school based in West Bristol that is looking for a SEMH Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the team on a long-term/full-time basis, preferably. The school is situated on beautiful grounds and prides itself on the support it provides to students.
The school will support a range of special needs, primarily focused around SEMH. The work is highly rewarding, offering the chance to make a genuine difference in a young person's life.
The role
The HLTA role involves leading pre-planned cover across the school to fill teacher gaps. You should be adaptable and confident in moving between classes.
Due to student needs, confidence working with challenging behaviour and strong classroom management skills are essential. Experience with SEMH students is preferred but not mandatory; applications from mainstream candidates are welcome. No formal qualifications are required—experience is key.
