We are seeking two Commercial Leads, one specialising in Digital, Data and Technology, and one specialising in corporate services, to join our team. An exciting opportunity to be part of a transformation of NHSBT's Commercial function. You will join a team of commercial experts specialising in digital and technology, and corporate services, and will work with some of the biggest global and health technology suppliers, ensuring that we get best value out of the significant investments we make every year. You will be passionate about building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across Commercial as well as the wider NHS Blood and Transplant organisation. You will collaborate and engage with programmes and colleagues across all levels, providing sound advice and influencing commercial outcomes and strategies. You will contribute towards increasing savings for NHSBT, driving quality and value for NHSBT. You will be part of a team that is at the forefront of collaboratively harnessing the power of the marketplace and delivering maximum value to our healthcare system. You will lead, actively engage, and collaborate with stakeholders including other public sector bodies to embed the Commercial strategy.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for delivering a pipeline of procurements, primarily in the corporate category. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Collaborating with programme teams and commercial function colleagues to identify and agree present and future needs, linkages to other activity areas and related potential needs for procurement.
2. Producing written reports and presentations to the Head of Commercial Operations, Commercial Director, Director of Finance, SMTs, Executive, Chief Executive and Board on key Commercials.
3. Running public contracts regulations (2015) compliant procurements which deliver the stakeholders requirements and ensure the best value for money.
4. Building and maintaining an understanding of relevant supply markets and business context to inform and support delivery of commercial strategies.
5. Inputting to Commercial policy and service development, including devising new policies, and working practices to ensure legal compliance and performance against KPIs.
6. Communicating and providing complex Commercial information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* CIPS level 6 or equivalent level of qualification or knowledge and experience.
* MSC in Procurement / Business / Economics or able to demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge & experience.
* Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD).
Experience
* Significant post qualification experience of managing sourcing, procurement, contract management, and supplier relationship management across a wide range of categories.
* Experience of working in a public and/or private sector management role at a senior level within a complex and diverse organisation.
* Skilled in strategic sourcing, procurement strategy, project planning and relationship management, category management and negotiating complex contracts.
* Expert knowledge of sourcing and procurement practice including related legislations.
* Experience of managing resources against an agreed budget.
* Leadership and management experience.
* Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint).
