About The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students with special educational needs, helping them engage fully in their learning journey. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide tailored assistance to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Responsibilities Of The SEND Teaching Assistant Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring a positive, inclusive learning experience. Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning and behaviour management strategies. Work alongside teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development, encouraging independence and confidence. Assist with daily activities, ensuring students feel supported and engaged. Requirements Of The SEND Teaching Assistant Previous experience working in a SEND, or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour. Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with vulnerable students. Knowledge of diverse learning needs and strategies to support them effectively. A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or support work is desirable. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the individual needs of students. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
