This role is accountable and pivotal to the quality of Yorkshire Waters technology product assurance. Reporting to the Head of Technology Change and working closely with senior stakeholders and business partners, you will set policies, define and implement strategies that guarantee the quality of our software and underlying technology, across a varied and complex change portfolio and landscape. You will lead and manage a team of highly motivated QA, Test and Release management experts who become the beating heart of quality within the technology function, representing the needs and interests of all departments to ensure technology quality levels are achieved effectively and efficiently.? Where you fit in: As our Manager of IT Quality Assurance, Test and Release you will Have autonomy in policy formation and application for QA, Test and Release strategies, across all change delivery streams. Establish, embed and sustain all Quality Assurance policies, practices, standards and methodologies across the TEC function and change lifecycle. Deliver QA, Test and Release services and resources across all TEC change delivery streams appropriate to size, scope and complexity to agreed cost and timescales (20-30% of overall effort supporting a £35m, per annum Capex portfolio). Ensure the relationship between Technology, Change and Run is maximised to drive collaboration, efficiency and output. Built partner collaboration, engagement relationship and performance measurement of relevant third parties, in the provision of effective test & release services and resources. Plan and manage investment budgets, extracting value and achieving savings where possible. What skills & qualifications you will need: Demonstrable experience of running QA functions of scale with representative headcount between 80 - 120. Demonstrable track record of QA function maturity, and awareness of emerging AI opportunities Significant experience of leading a team of QA, Test and Release managers and experts in assuring the end-to-end testing of an extensive, complex, product and technology set. Significant experience of leading the implementation and shaping of organisational level QA, Test and Release policies, processes and strategies. Significant experience creating a best-in-class quality engineering team structure and practices, with a solid understanding of various delivery methodologies within large and complex organisations. Strong commercial and supplier management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills to ensure senior stakeholders (C) understand and implement the QA vision within the organisation. Excellent leadership capabilities, a strategic mind-set as well as proficiency in hands-on-management. Educated to degree level and or with appropriate professional qualification. You will also benefit from having: Experience of working in the Utilities environment. Experience of QA strategies for Cloud based technologies. Experience of knowledge of ITIL/ITSM. ISTQB certification, advanced/expert level. TMMI professional experience or knowledge.
