TXM Recruit are delighted to announce we have an exiting opportunity as a Methods Engineer with a leading global Rail company.
Role Overview:
The key aim of the role is to optimize the assembly and manufacturing process by studying product and manufacturing methods, designing, and delivering robust process flows and work instructions. To support manufacturing program and continuous improvement disciplines in providing cost effective manufacturing processes for new & existing programs. To implement & manage manufacturing systems to ensure defect free product in all areas. You will be in liaison with the Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities & Activities
1. Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
2. Be the interface with the engineering team for cost effective introduction of new product for overhaul or manufacture on the shop floor (where, how, with what, how long, training periods etc.).
3. Develop and maintain good manufacturing practices and safe methods of work. Identify build sequence and develop product structure for assigned overhaul, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
4. Lead improvement projects and give presentations to managers and staff.
5. Read, interpret, and evaluate drawings, models and designs for assembly and manufacture.
Qualifications/Education Required:
6. HNC engineering qualification required or equivalent.
7. Good understanding or mathematics, Lean principles and tools, Six Sigma.
8. CAD Qualification desirable.
