Science Graduate Cover Supervisor - Full-Time Role
Location: Stockport
Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week
Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Science graduate to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. Rated Good by Ofsted, the school is seeking a dedicated and confident individual to work as a Cover Supervisor within the Science department. This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching or those looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
As a Science Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, ensuring students remain focused and engaged in their learning, and managing classroom behaviour. While you will not be expected to plan or mark work, your role will be crucial in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting students' education during teacher absences.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring students follow the work set by the teacher.
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures.
* Providing support to students, answering questions, and encouraging participation.
* Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress, student engagement, and any incidents.
* Assisting with practical Science demonstrations and activities, where appropriate.
We are looking for someone who:
* Holds a degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field).
* Has a strong interest in education and supporting young people.
* Can confidently manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
* Is adaptable, proactive, and able to work across a range of year groups.
* Has experience working with young people (such as in schools, tutoring, or youth work), although full training will be provided.
