Detailed job description and main responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Standard elements of ICM training
The successful candidate will join the middle grade rota for other Drs in training and have access to competency certification in the full range of General ICM clinical activities. This would be suitable for those training in ICM, in Anaesthetics or in similar specialities.
Once established, (after at least 6 months), and depending on the wishes of the candidate, there is opportunity to transfer to other clinical areas, (Cardiac ICM, Neuro ICM, Paediatric ICM and General Medicine) as required for single speciality training equivalence. For the right candidate, this could lead to the opportunity to develop a GMC-approved CESR pathway for Specialist Registration in single speciality ICM.
Successful candidates will have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors, and there will be a named educational supervisor assigned at the start of the post. The opportunity for Continued Professional Development (CPD) is highly supported and encouraged by the Trust, with options available to take study leave. All licensed doctors must meet the GMC requirements for revalidation and there will be an annual appraisal to support this process.
