About the role:
We are looking for highly motivated clinical psychology lecturers to join us in delivering our postgraduate programme and contributing to our high-quality research profile. The post holder will be part of a dedicated team of academics who deliver the Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
The University of Staffordshire Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology collaborates with local clinical psychologists in Shropshire and Staffordshire. The programme emphasizes prevention, early intervention, innovative practice, and critical thinking. We value the contributions of our service user and carer group in influencing all aspects of programme delivery and are committed to fostering an inclusive culture that promotes equality and diversity.
We prioritize working closely with both colleagues and our trainees, benefiting from superb facilities in a £30 million Science Centre. Our focus is on providing an excellent student experience through innovative programmes and research-informed teaching.
Main Responsibilities:
We are currently recruiting for a 0.4 FTE Clinical Tutor and a 0.4 FTE Research Tutor. Please specify in your application if you would like to be considered for a specific role or both roles.
Clinical Tutor role:
Post holders will contribute to the clinical experience element of doctoral training as Clinical Tutors. Responsibilities include supporting placement planning, regional supervisor training, and mentoring trainees, as well as contributing to teaching and clinical skills sessions.
Applicants should have a clinical psychology qualification, a minimum of two years post-qualification experience, and enthusiasm for supporting the training and development of future Clinical Psychologists. Experience working with older adults and/or neuropsychology is beneficial but not essential.
Research Tutor role:
Post holders will contribute to the research strand of doctoral training as Research Tutors, focusing on teaching and assessment on research modules, supervising doctoral research projects, and providing academic mentoring to trainees.
Successful applicants will have a clinical psychology qualification, a minimum of two years post-qualification experience, and enthusiasm for supporting trainee development. Experience in research supervision and publications is desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirement: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions’ Council as a Practitioner Psychologist is required for both posts.
