Job Description:
Join us as a Project Manager at The University of Salford and be part of Team Salford, one of the UK’s fastest-growing universities.
This is an exciting time to join the University of Salford. We are proud of the work taking place as part of our Campus Connectivity plan; an ambitious, daring, and fulfilling venture. The landscape at the University of Salford is changing with new buildings, new facilities, and new ideas.
We have already hired some key members of our project team who have begun the journey, and we are now searching for an experienced Project Manager to complete our team. Working alongside the Associate Director of Campus Services and our Strategic Portfolio Office, you will play a leading role in building on this strong foundation as we move into the construction planning and delivery stages.
Over the next two years, our pipeline includes:
1. Working with construction partners as they deliver building projects from pre-planning to delivery, making changes to our infrastructure that will shape our campus and our future.
2. Coordinating operations as our catering outlets undergo a refresh and remodeling in Phase II of a larger project to change our food and drink offering on-campus.
3. Working with external partners to firm-up and roll-out transport optimization activity including car parking solutions and embedding our sustainable travel plan.
4. Reviewing how our students secure accommodation and exploring how through our providers and IT solutions we can make their customer experience seamless and successful.
5. An ambitious sports and physical activity strategy, measuring our offering and providing overall project management as we implement improvements and develop any new facilities required.
To deliver in this role, we hope you'll bring:
1. A background in commercial projects.
2. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
3. Strong project management life cycle experience with the ability to communicate with key stakeholders at all levels.
4. Experience in overseeing multiple projects as part of a large programme.
What's in it for you?
1. Generous annual leave entitlement (32 days plus bank holidays) and additional paid closure over the Christmas period.
2. A career that works for you, with flexible working opportunities, great benefits, and continuous professional development.
3. Our commitment to be Net Zero and embed sustainability in all aspects of university life.
4. Our unique Peel Park campus with lots of green spaces and our MediaCity campus at the heart of one of the country's leading digital and media hubs.
5. A rewarding career where everything you do will make a difference to the students, our local community, and the world around you.
Supporting diversity and inclusion is at the heart of our community, and we want our colleagues to reflect the diversity in our campus. As such, we welcome applications from candidates who might need to work flexibly, as well as those from underrepresented groups. We want our team to be a mix of people and skills, where everyone feels they have a voice and are empowered to succeed.
There's never been a better time to join us.
