The Role:
New City College has an exciting opportunity for qualified Speech and Language Therapists to join our newly created in-house SaLT department. You will support students aged between 16-25 years across both our SEND discrete curriculum and mainstream cohorts.
The department is responsible for the SaLT provision across all our campuses in London and Essex.
This new service aims to ensure that learners with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) receive the right level of effective and functional support to achieve their educational and vocational goals and learn the skills needed for a successful transition to their chosen post-college pathway.
We are looking for committed Speech and Language Therapists who are passionate about supporting older learners. You will assess and support students by implementing evidence-based universal, targeted and specialist intervention, including providing training for staff and supporting in the creation of a whole- college approach to SLCN.
Reporting to the SaLT Manager, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside teaching and specialist support staff, students and their families.
* Pay Range: £32,449.12 - £34,306.80 (0.88 FTE, pro rata, per annum). Allowance available for exceptional candidates – to be discussed in interview.
* Hours and weeks: Full-time (35 hours) or Part-Time
* Contract Type: Term Time only (From GCSE Results Day until Mid-July)
Who You Are:
Candidates must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
We will consider both newly qualified and experienced therapists, ideally with some experience of supporting older students or young adults.
