Interim Programme Planner x2 (Engineering Services)

37 hours Monday - Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 7 months
City: Winchester
Hybrid working: mixture of working at home and in the office, with occasional visits to live sites
The role involves supporting clients in defining and shaping their programme planning needs and aspirations, collaborating with Engineering Services to translate these into actionable, deliverable outputs. You will work closely with clients to ensure their vision is effectively translated into feasible programmes.
Key duties:
1. Ensure programmes meet client needs, delivering high-quality, cost-effective projects and demonstrating value for money.
2. Lead complex programmes by establishing governance, resource mapping, stakeholder engagement, and communication plans to achieve desired outcomes.
3. Collaborate with Engineering Services to consolidate multiple project and workstream programmes into a master programme for effective workload management and continuous improvement.
4. Lead best practices for Microsoft Project, designing templates, establishing standards, and auditing programme usage to incorporate lessons learned and market intelligence.
5. Conduct scenario planning, issue resolution, and performance analysis to capture trends and facilitate workshops supporting project, programme, and workstream delivery.
Key requirements:
1. Appropriate knowledge, experience and training in the use of planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta, MSP.
2. Detailed knowledge of technical software applied to the NEC contract and construction processes.
3. A sound understanding of the NEC Contracts clauses and principles.
4. Recent and relevant experience as a planner managing programmes of work or similar.
5. Strong communication skills – able to influence and make sound judgements in varied and complex situations.
6. Strong personal organisational ability and project management skills – ability to manage a range of complex issues.
7. Ability to generate sound solutions to complex problems.
