Summary and purpose of position: The position is responsible for delivering and managing DCPC driver training, on the road assessments & driver development plans, including the delivery of Wincanton Drivers core induction, specialist training. The role will be working on the Marshalls contract covering 5 Northern sites to ensure their training requirements are delivered and drivers are safe and compliant utilising all data provided by Wincanton systems to deliver targeted training in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities: Deliver engaging DCPC training sessions, utilising modern learning techniques in line with customer requirements. Deliver Driver Core Inductions in a timely manner to all new Wincanton core drivers, and temporary workers when required. Conduct on the road pre-employment, temporary worker, annual, post-accident, return to work and performance failings driver assessments/behavioural interventions in line with Wincanton policies and standards. Interrogate data at regular intervals to identify drivers requiring additional support. Monitor & develop driver performance through use of telemetry. Provide training and guidance on telematics system fitted to vehicles. Deliver specialist driver training courses at the request of contracts. Plan and deliver classroom and practical training sessions for familiarisation of new or in-service equipment. Manage and keep up to date driver training records paper & electronic over several Wincanton platforms. Work as part of a team of professionals from all departments to aid compilation of SSoW. Providing subject matter expertise on safety matters for managers and supervisors. Work with sites in allocated region to ensure their driver training requirements are delivered in a timely manner and their drivers are safe and compliant. Attend relevant CPD courses and carry out personal research and reading to keep up to date with legal, industry, and Company trends and requirements. Person specification Experience, skills and attributes: Must have CE licence for at least 24 months. Excellent written & oral communication skills. Hold a L3 Award in Education and Training or above (or equivalent). Have a working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of the learners. Be able to demonstrate the ability to develop teaching and training material using the appropriate resources to support effective learning. Be able to articulate, check, and challenge EC Driver and UK Domestic hours legislation and Working Time legislation requirements and means of managing. Have a working knowledge of safety schemes and accreditations including but not limited to ADR, FORS, CLOCS, LLCS etc. Work confidentially, and with integrity, reporting all issues regardless as to working relationships, without fear or favour. IT literate including experience of Microsoft Office packages. Experience in Human Factors training. Prioritisation and delegation skills. International Transport Manager CPC (or equivalent) is desirable.
