This role plays an important part of the clients' journey within our support accommodation schemes.
By working with a cohort of clients, the role supports clients to develop independent living skills, with an emphasis on maintaining recovery and wellbeing.
The aim of the role is to help equip people to sustain tenancies in the community and their long-term recovery from substance misuse.
Main duties of the job
1. Working with a case load of clients
2. Completing assessments
3. Creating support plans and risk management plans
4. One to one and some group work with clients
5. Signposting to community services for wellbeing, training, education, benefits, and housing
6. Signposting to community recovery support groups
7. Supporting clients with the move-on process
8. Carrying out H&S checks within our properties
9. Supporting clients to increase independent living skills
10. Supporting clients to understand how to maintain future tenancies
11. Dealing with anti-social behaviour

Job responsibilities
As a Housing Support Worker based in Stockport, you will be responsible for supporting people to improve their independence and promoting positive change in their lives by encouraging and empowering a better quality of life, health, and well-being. You will provide support to people in treatment covering ten outcome areas that have been found to be essential in supporting people to maintain a life free from drugs and alcohol. This will include advice and guidance around housing, life skills, finances, physical and mental health.
