Twenty4Seven Education are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work with students who have a range of learning and physical disabilities. As an agency providing support to schools across the Cardiff area, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your role will include working closely with students to provide personalized support, help them access the curriculum, and promote their independence and confidence. Key Responsibilities: Support students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure students’ needs are met effectively. Provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students with tasks, activities, and social interactions. Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement. Help with behavior management strategies and ensure a positive, respectful environment. Communicate regularly with the classroom teacher, SEN coordinator, and other staff members to monitor progress and provide feedback. Help students develop life skills, social skills, and emotional regulation techniques. Assist with personal care and mobility needs, where necessary, following appropriate safeguarding guidelines. Key Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable. A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach, with a genuine desire to support children in their learning and personal development. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ability to adapt and be flexible in responding to the varying needs of students. A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or willingness to apply for one. (Optional) Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning, or other relevant qualifications.
