Omega are supporting leading and innovative company in their search for a skilled and dynamic Distribution Manager. As a key player in the foodservice industry, they are looking for an experienced professional to manage and optimise their distribution operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual with expertise in transport, logistics, and team leadership, to play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency and service delivery of a rapidly growing and highly regarded business.
Key Responsibilities – Distribution Manager
* Oversee daily transport and distribution operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
* Lead, train, and develop the transport team to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
* Manage fleet operations, including maintenance, scheduling, and route optimization for efficiency.
* Optimize delivery routes and transportation systems to reduce costs and improve service quality.
* Control transport department budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations for transportation operations.
* Collaborate with customer service teams to address delivery issues and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements – Distribution Manager
* Experience in a distribution or logistics management role, overseeing transportation, warehousing, and supply chain operations.
* Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams of operational staff, drivers, and warehouse personnel, ensuring high performance and efficient operations.
* Understanding of transport regulations, logistics systems, route optimization, and fleet management to ensure smooth and cost-effective distribution.
* Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and cost control to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budgetary targets.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and industry regulations with the ability to enforce safety standards across all distribution activities to ensure a safe working environment.
