We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety & Environmental Manager based in Biggleswade for one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis. Our client is a large, growing and reputable manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment on a national and international scale.
Responsibilities of the Safety & Environmental Manager
1. Promote effective and safe practices and controls throughout the engineering workshop and yard operations.
2. Assist in developing Safe Systems of Work in all areas.
3. Support in carrying out accident investigations.
4. Ensure equipment is compliant and fit for purpose.
5. Provide guidance on hazard identification and ensure risk assessments are completed.
6. Assist in the control of contractors - assessing RAMS and issuing PTW.
7. Carry out company inductions and safety training as required.
Requirements for a successful Safety & Environmental Manager
1. Formal safety qualification - NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
2. Experience in a similar role is essential.
3. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
4. Well organised with attention to detail.
5. Strong IT skills.
6. Confident working in an engineering workshop environment.
