Are you a passionate and experienced educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SENCO to join a good school in the Hackney bordering North London area and lead the provision for pupils with additional needs.
Key Duties
* Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across the school, ensuring high-quality support for all pupils
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement effective strategies for children with diverse learning needs
* Develop and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and local authorities to provide the best outcomes for pupils
* Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND regulations, policies, and best practices.Monitor and assess pupils' progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
What you need for this Secondary School Teacher position:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN teaching.A National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)
* QTS NASENCO or NPQ
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
* Experience developing and implementing EHCPs and IEPs.Excellent communication and leadership skills.
