Logistics ManagerWellingboroughSalary up to £56kOur client based in Wellingborough is a full service, global engineering, repair and logistics company providing best cost solutions to many of the worlds’ premier brands. They support the entire product life cycle, from original design input, pre-sales testing, local customisation and configuration through to their field support activities that include technical assistance as well as product repair, replacement and refurbishment programs.The RoleThe Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and compliant with both customer and regulatory requirements, whilst maintaining and delivering a best in class operational and commercial service to the client's customer base. Primarily the role will support the UK operations, however flexibility is an essential element of the role as there may be a requirement to support additional sites where necessary.Key Job Responsibilities
* Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and Quality Standards, including management of fork lift truck and van driving standards.
* Management of site finished goods warehouse, utilising in house and customer IT systems.
* Ensure service delivery and cost efficiency work hand in hand to deliver optimal levels of service.
* Resource planning to ensure high levels of flexibility and product security.
* Establish relevant KPI’s ensuring that your team meet the required targets for performance and accuracy.
* Logistic carrier planning ensuring selection of carriers are available to support changing business needs.
* Development of effective storage solutions.
* Processing defective material returns within defined timescales and to strict supplier guidelines.
* KPI management of logistics providers to meet customer demands.
* Develop and promote the ability to complete 3rd and 4th party logistics loops.
* Effectively present to and develop for customers the logistic services and benefits we offer.
* Negotiate continuous improvements in logistic costs and service.
* Manage customs clearance processes.
* Facilitate development of system interfaces between supplier's systems and in house systems
* Development of packaging solutions.
* Effective claims management for transit losses/damage.
* Verify and approve all freight related invoices.
* Ensure all inbound/outbound deliveries are complaint with latest tariffs.
* Ensure all shipments adhere to relevant governing body H&S standards
* Identify, manage and implement any necessary customer accreditations.
* Perform Customs Compliance management.
About you ...
* Strong commercial appreciation preferred.
* Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines
* Highly structured working approach, with proven ability in ensuring all key metrics are managed and delivered within an agreed framework.
* Demonstrable experience working in a reverse logistics environment is beneficial.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to effectively communicate at all levels. Internal and external.
* Proven ability to build relationships with and develop new logistic partners
* Strong presentation skills.
* Occasional travel to other locations at short notice is essential.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Proven track record of improving KPI, operational and financial.
* Proficient understanding of customs impact and likely changes due to Brexit transition.
