About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Director or Partner to join a prestigious law firm's Residential Property team. This is a senior role that offers significant responsibility and the chance to shape the future of the team and its services. The successful candidate will play a key part in leading client relationships, managing complex residential property matters, and contributing to the strategic development of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Management: Lead and manage relationships with high-net-worth clients, developers, and institutional investors, ensuring the highest level of service and professional advice.
* Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor junior solicitors and support staff, offering guidance on technical and procedural matters. Actively contribute to the development and growth of the team.
* Case Management: Handle a varied caseload of high-value residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, and property development matters. Provide expert advice on complex issues, such as shared ownership schemes, tenancy agreements, and disputes.
* Business Development: Play an integral role in generating new business opportunities and expanding the firm's residential property offering. Attend networking events, develop strong industry contacts, and participate in thought leadership activities to raise the profile of the team.
* Strategic Contribution: Support the senior leadership team in shaping the future direction of the Residential Property practice. Identify market trends and develop strategies for maintaining and growing the firm's client base.
* Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure all work complies with regulatory and legal standards, keeping up to date with relevant laws and industry changes. Take responsibility for mitigating legal and reputational risk.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Experience: Significant experience (ideally 8+ years PQE) in residential property law, including experience in a wide range of property-related matters.
* Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, support the development of junior staff, and lead client-facing relationships with senior executives.
* Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge and experience in complex property transactions, with the ability to provide practical, commercial advice to clients.
* Business Development: A strong track record of business generation and experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
* Commercial Acumen: The ability to balance client care with commercial insight, working efficiently and managing high-value transactions effectively.
* Collaborative: A team player with a collaborative working style, able to work alongside other departments and colleagues within the firm.
