We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Inclusion Co-ordinator & SENCO to join our team. In this role, you will drive the strategic development of our school’s SEN policy and coordinate provision for students with SEND, ensuring that every student receives equitable support and opportunities to excel. This role is to start in January 2025. Pay is negotiable dependent on experience. The role is full time, fixed term.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the strategic development and daily implementation of the SEN policy, ensuring seamless support for pupils with SEND.
2. Serve as the key point of contact for staff, parents, and external agencies, providing professional guidance on best practices and current SEND policies.
3. Take responsibility for the provision map and SEND register, implement intervention groups, and monitor the effectiveness of support initiatives.
4. Teach, mentor, and lead intervention groups for five mornings per week, working closely with individual students.
5. Maintain a strong strategic overview of resources and funding for SEN and Pupil Premium, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and resources.
6. Promote inclusion for disadvantaged and gifted students, ensuring equity and opportunity through action plans and data-driven improvement.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. QTS
2. National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment
3. A graduate Degree and recognised qualifications in English and Maths from Secondary School.
4. A minimum of 5 years Teaching experience
5. Experience of working at a whole-school level
6. Involvement in self-evaluation and development planning
7. Experience of working with SEND pupils and leading SEND provision within a mainstream school.
