We are looking to recruit a qualified Cardiac Physiologist/Cardiac Scientist specialising in Echocardiography to join our friendly and established team.
This is an exciting time to join our busy Cardio-Respiratory Department. QEH has recently welcomed 2 additional cardiologists. We are looking for an enthusiastic and aspirational individual to help us develop echo services for West Norfolk.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive expertise within echocardiography, have excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to participate in teaching, training, and mentoring at all levels.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to be an independent practitioner in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography and to participate in specialised procedures such as TOE, Stress Echo, and Contrast/Bubble Studies, working closely with the Cardiologists.
Newly qualified staff will be supported to develop experience and gain additional competencies required. Professional and personal development are encouraged.
Continuation of professional development within the role is essential. The successful applicant will also be able to perform a variety of diagnostic tests provided by the department.

Person Specification
Qualifications/training and professional development
* BSc/MSc in cardiac physiology/cardiac science
* BSE Accredited (equivalent qualifications may be considered)
* RCCP registered
* Qualifications in training/assessing/mentoring
Experience
* Will be fully competent in carrying out full study BSE echocardiograms
* Competent in performing all cardiac investigations provided by the department
* Experience in training and assessment of junior staff and other medical professionals
* Experience in physiologist-led specialist clinics
* Experience in assisting in TOE, and performing specialised Echocardiograms, i.e. 3D, Contrast, Bubble studies and stress echo
Skills, abilities and knowledge
* Ability to organise and analyse data with good critical thinking skills
* Ability to obtain all cardiac ultrasound views as described in the BSE minimum dataset on both technically easy and challenging patients utilising optimal patient positioning and technical skills
* Able to keep up with workload and deliver results in a timely manner
* Actively participates in teaching and training
* Knowledge of a wide range of cardiac physiology investigations and advanced specialist knowledge in Echocardiography
* History taking and general clinical examination
