At Pobl Group, this role is best known as Scheme Support Officer. We are looking for passionate and dedicated night owls to join our team on a part-time (30hrs), permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Where does the role fit in?
Swansea Young Persons service provides temporary accommodation to young people age 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness. The service delivers intensive housing related supported to individuals who are ready to gain independence and a tenancy of their own.

As a Waking Night Young Persons Scheme Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service throughout the night. You will provide emotional and practical support, assist with any issues that may arise during the night, and contribute to a calm and stable environment.

To excel as a Scheme Support Officer, you don't necessarily need previous experience or specific qualifications. Instead, this role requires:

Our goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role that involves addressing complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health issues, substance misuse, and offending behaviour.
You will encounter a variety of personalities and behaviours, some of whom may be resistant to the support we offer. Therefore, you must be adaptable in your approach to engaging with a diverse clientele.
This is a lone working role, so needs a person who is communicative, resilient and confident to work on their own initiative. You will receive a comprehensive induction period before you start working your wakeful shifts.

Work Pattern: Waking Nights – 3 consecutive nights per week on a 4 week rolling rota

Our service is staffed 24/7 therefore shifts include working weekends & bank holidays.
For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.
