Senior Bids & Proposals Manager 37.5 hours per week, we would also accept part-time applicants (30 hours per week) Remote / Newcastle upon Tyne We are seeking an experienced Senior Bids & Proposals Manager to lead our efforts in securing new business opportunities, helping to drive our growth and deliver our strategic objectives. In this role, you will oversee the entire bid process, from identifying opportunities to writing high-quality bids and proposals which tell compelling stories about our services. Your work will ensure that we win contracts to expand the impact and reach of our mental health services. Key Responsibilities: Develop Winning Bids: Lead the creation of compelling bids and proposals that reflect our high standards of mental health service delivery, address customer needs and align with our organisational tone of voice. Bid Strategy & Planning: Develop bid strategies, including win themes, response plans, and timelines. Ensure proposals are clear, concise, and meet bid requirements. Opportunity Pipeline Management: Take responsibility for managing the opportunity pipeline, qualifying new business through tender portals and ensuring alignment with commercial goals. Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with clinical, operational, and central support teams to identify key messages and translate these into impactful bid and proposals. Translate technical data into clear narratives that resonate with our commissioners. Bid Library & Process Improvement: Oversee the management of the bid library, ensuring it’s up-to-date. Continually improve our bid management processes to deliver consistent, high-quality bids. Lead & Train Teams: Chair bid and pipeline management meetings, collaborating across teams to ensure successful delivery. Coach and mentor colleagues in best practice approaches to bid and proposal development, providing feedback and training. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior leadership and commissioners to effectively present our capability to deliver excellent mental health services, ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements. Use of Digital Tools: Leverage relevant digital platforms, including AI tools (e.g. Autogen AI) and tender portals, to enhance bid development and management. Essential Criteria: Degree-level qualification or equivalent career experience. Significant experience developing and writing high-quality, successful bids and proposals, with a proven track record in managing opportunity pipelines. Demonstrable knowledge of bid management processes, including the development of win themes, bid planning, and response writing. Understanding of NHS commissioning processes and mental health service delivery, with the ability to translate complex information into persuasive proposals. Experience in coaching, supervising, or training colleagues, helping them develop their bid management skills. Ability to engage with senior staff, including Director and Executive-level roles, and confidently present our capabilities. APMP Practitioner certification or a willingness to work towards it. Understanding of project management principles and their application in bid processes.
