The Role
This is a temporary role for 12 months
Purpose of the Role: The Marketing & Events Assistant will support the staff team in the planning and execution of various events, digital marketing, and CRM database upkeep. The successful candidate will help run Chambers’ busy programme of in-person and hybrid events, which includes seminars, conferences, and social events, alongside other marketing activities. This role will have a particular focus on key client account management in crime and crime-focused events. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about event planning, has a keen eye for detail, and a desire to work in the legal industry.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Event Coordination: Assisting the marketing team with a high number of in-person events, ranging from small meetings and seminars to award ceremonies. This will include pulling together invite lists for events, managing RSVPs and any special requirements, such as accommodation, transportation, and dietary requirements; ensuring security is present, liaising with speakers, and organising any event collateral, such as merchandise and handouts; managing event attendees' sign-in sheets alongside ensuring name badges are available to all guests. You will work closely with the Front of House Supervisor for all in-house in-person events’ room booking, layout, and appropriate refreshments are provided, and the onsite technical team to ensure all AV and technical equipment is set up and in place.
CRM: Responsible for adding and updating contact details of clients and prospects, and ensuring contacts are added to the correct mailing lists, alongside other administrative upkeep.
Administrative Support: Provide website administrative support, primarily keeping event-related content pages up to date. Support other members of staff with administrative tasks, as required.
BD Activity Coordination for Key Accounts: Taking direction from the clerk BD lead and Senior Criminal Clerk, plan and coordinate events, seminars, meetings, and workshops for key accounts (crime focus) to enhance client engagement. Build knowledge of target firms in respective areas, and key stakeholders, and bring forward ideas for engagement (including to assist with setting up BD meetings). Work with relevant teams to ensure targeted invite lists are drawn up, added to (including desk-based research as needed), and added to the system. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful client engagement execution. If needed, attend events/meetings to assist with successful delivery and client engagement. Evaluate the success of client engagement activity and recommend improvements for future initiatives. Help to collate/record and distribute intel post client engagement activity, to ensure there is effective follow-up by relevant parties. Help to ensure expenditure on such client engagement is kept to budget and recorded.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Educated to A-Level standard. A degree is desirable, but not essential
* Experience of working in a busy environment
* Experience in event planning and execution
* Ability to work with a small team and independently
* IT literate and a competent Microsoft Office user
* Proven project management skills
* Excellent communication both verbal and written
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good organisation skills, with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Good interpersonal skills and able to deal with sensitive and complex staff and member relations
* A flexible, pro-active, and collaborative approach to problem-solving identifying emerging issues
* Awareness of risk, security, data protection

* Experience using CRM systems
* Experience working in a professional services firm, including a barrister chambers
