Position Title: Senior Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics - CAE Senior
Duration: Contract
Location: Hybrid Working - 2/3 days on site in Leamington Spa
Summary
1. Technical Responsible for planning and developing the Virtual CAE Dynamics Performance against K&C and Vehicle targets.
2. To Build, Tune and Correlate CAE models with Testing data. Proficiency in ADAMS Car and good MatLab knowledge required.
3. Very good knowledge of Objective dynamics metrics and experience with Driver in the Loop simulation are required.
4. The role may include involvement in physical testing as Collaboration with Physical Performance engineers is key for success.
Responsibilities
5. Functionally Reporting to Vehicle Dynamics Senior/Lead Engineer
6. Support Benchmark and Objective target definition via CAE analysis
7. Plan, Execution and Responsibility for CAE Dynamics Performance (K&C and Full vehicle) vs Targets (mainly EV / Hybrid vehicles)
8. Responsible for CAE design and tuning of hard point, bush, spring, damper, roll bar, wheel frequency, steering, tire models
9. To define tuning Components specifications with Chassis
10. Responsible for CAE Vehicle Setup sheets and Tuning Ranges cascading to Chassis function
11. Create and Validate Kinematic and MBD simulation tools to increase efficiency (e.g. virtual rig test procedures, post processing script etc)
12. Collaboration with Chassis team is key
13. Keep up to date with latest technologies in the industry
14. Run Suppliers Technical meeting (e.g. tire models, DiL, software)
15. Reporting and High-level message Clear communication are essential
Core Requirements
16. High Theoretical vehicle dynamics knowledge
17. High understanding of K&C axle data, Vehicle Dynamics Metrics, Targets and Testing
18. High knowledge of vehicle Tuning techniques
19. Expert in ADAMS Car (Adams View is a plus) & Good in MatLab
20. Expert in K&C axle Full Vehicle Results Interpretation
Desirable skills and Attributes
21. Methodical approach (e.g. 6sigma DMAIC) to problem solving
22. Structured Reporting skills: Assumption/Target/Action/Conclusion/Recommendation
23. Experience in Subjective/Objective feeling/data interpretation in reference to Customer perception
