Job summary (Please note this vacancy is only open to applicants with appropriate NHS experience) The post would suit someone who aims to pursue a career in rheumatology and who wishes to develop an interest in teaching whilst broadening their clinical and research experience. The successful candidate will play a central role in the coordination, organisation and delivery of the undergraduate clinical teaching program for 5 sessions per week (annual average). The remaining 5 sessions per week will consist of clinical duties research and professional development. There are no on-call commitments to the post but locum opportunities may be available. The main clinical duties will be divided between rheumatology outpatient clinic and ward. Specialist clinics and training can be arranged according to career interests. Opportunities for clinical research are available and can be tailored to individual requirements where possible. The post is advertised for a doctor who would function at Tier 1 level, (SHO grade/Junior Clinical Teaching Fellow). Main duties of the job You will be supervised by Dr Kirstin Laverick, Consultant Rheumatologist who has a large commitment to undergraduate training and education within the organisation. The post includes the opportunity to undertake a formal qualification in Medical Education (Certificate or Diploma) during their employment within the Trust.
